PCS Officials 2003-04

Dr. Harjinder S. Khaira

President, PCS

Dr. Khaira is one of the founding members of the PCS. He is also one of the pioneer Punjabi TV Program Host in the Chicago land area. He has been actively involved in organizing major community functions. He is a stage performer (Singer and Folk Dancer) and has charming personality. He graduated from Govt. Dental College and Hospital from Amritsar with B.D.S degree.

He represented his professional school in various sports and cultural events in India on a national level. Showing his leadership ability he served as president of Punjab Dental Student Association and captained his college hockey team. In pursuit of higher studies he went to the Prestigious Tufts University in Boston and earned his D.M.D. degree. He also served as the president of his tuftonians class.

Currently Dr. Khaira is working as an associate dentist with a large group practice with future plans of serving the community for their dental needs. He is happily married and blessed with a son and a daughter.

Onkar Singh Sangha

Mr. Sangha has been part of the P.C.S team for years and works very hard for the community events. He served in Indian Railways, before migrating to U.S.A. He worked in Real Estate and is presently involved with Collage Fund Life Division of Mega Life and health insurance.

Onkar is married to Veerindrajeet Kaur and has three daughters – Jasjeet Kaur, Baljeet Kaur and Jasdeep Kaur.

Jasbir S. Palia

Bhinder Singh Pamma

Mr. Pamma belongs to Distt. Sangroor and he completed his BA from Govt. College Nabha. In India he served as president of Shaheed Pritam Singh Sports Club in 1983. He played hockey, kabaddi and volleyball. Mr. Pamma has been serving PCS in sports festival and other activities since last few years.

He is married to Paramjit Kaur and they are blessed with a daughter Gagandeep kaur and a son Hardeep Singh.  

Jagmeet Singh

 Jagmeet born in village Diwana near Kurukshetra, Jagmeet obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from Kurukshetra university. He received his associate’s degree in applied sciences from Harper College in 1999. He is attending SUI (Harper Campus) this year as a part- time student to finish up his Bachelor’s in Electronics. He works for Shure Electronics as an associate engineer. He enjoys sports, singing, repairing video games and computers. He also enjoys to play his D.J. Apna Sangeet. Jagmeet is married and has two lovely daughters.  

Amarpal S. Matharu

Asst. Finance Secretary

Mr. Matharu was born in Assam, India. He is a registered Professional Engineer and holds an M.B.A. from City University of New York, M.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of North Carolina, and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from India. He works as a Principal Engineer with the nationwide firm MACTEC Engineering and Consulting. Amarpal is also on the Board of The Institute of Transportation Engineers for the state of Illinois, where he is the Director of Student Affairs Committee. He has played table tennis for his district/ college and cricket for his school. He is married to Purab Kaur, who has completed her MBA from Kellogg. Their two year old daughter Mayher keeps Mommy busy at home.

Yadwinder Singh Grewal

Yadwinder has been serving community with PCS since many years and has helped in organizing many major events. He is very popular among Devon Avenue community. He is a record setting Weightlifting Champion at Sports College Jalandhar during 1981-85. Recently he has ventured into gas station   ownership. Married to Balwinder Kaur, he is blessed with a son Harpreet and a daughter Navpreet Kaur.

Gulzar S. Multani

Mr. Multani is one of the founding members of the PCS and has served the community in various capacities. He has been actively involved in organizing many Community events. He also served as a Vice-President of  GENCO ALUMNI Association, coached  and captained Bhangra team, which has shown its talents in many states.

He holds a  Bachelor's degree in Civil Eng. from GNE College Ludhiana, Punjab and currently President of Pan Oceanic Engineering and Construction Company. He is married to Narinder Kaur and has two children Gagandeep Kaur and Jasdeep Singh.

Mohinderjit Singh Saini

Mr. Saini, an active organizer of Punjabi Cultural, Sikh American and Asian American events for the last decade. In 1992, he was commended by the Asian American Coalition with a community service award and extra efforts award by Punjabi Cultural Society of Chicago in 1997.

Mr. Saini is an active member of Sikh American Heritage Organization, chairman of Ethnic & Cultural Diversity Committee of Vision in Progress in Palatine and has served Punjabi Cultural Society of Chicago in various capacities since its inception. A resident of Palatine, IL, Mr. Saini is “411” of the community’s database.

He is also an active member of Asian American Advisory Council of State of Illinois Treasurer Judy Baar Topinka. He has formerly served as an executive, finance and social secretary of Sikh Religious Society of Chicago, served as Chairman of Program Committee of 12th annual Asian American Coalition Dinner Banquet in 1995, served as member of Palatine's Quasquicentennial Committee in 1991. Mr. Saini holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana , a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from University of Illinois at Chicago, and is currently a Consulting Engineer with Teng & Associates at Hillside & Evanston Projects.

Mohinderjit is married to Harvinder Kaur and they have three children Harleen Kaur (11), Jaskaran Singh (8) and JeevanJot Singh (5). Interestingly all the family members were born on 10th. day of the month.
