Vaisakhi Cultural Program
You and your family are invited to "Rangla Punjab
'2002" on Saturday, March
30, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at Gateway Theatre, 5216 Lawrence Ave.,
Chicago, IL.
Tickets are $10, $25 each. Children under 10 are free. Reserved
seating and
front rows $50, $100/VIP tickets are also available. Gates open
at 6:00 p.m.
Over 2000 are expected to attend. Last year it was a sold-out
show. Seats are
limited so advance purchase is recommended. Tickets are on sale
now at many

Strict security will be enforced.
PARKING: PCS has made special arrangements with Gateway
Theater to acquire
adjoining Parking Lots in addition to Gateway theatre parking
lot, "Rangla
Punjab Parking allowed" Signs will be placed at all
eligible lots. Please
park only in those lots. Also there is plenty of street parking
available on
Lawrence and Milwaukee streets.
"Rangla Punjab" has been the authentic,
traditional, state of the art Punjabi
Cultural variety annual event in the Chicagoland area since last
two decades.
It is to preserve and promote Punjabi language, cultural
heritage and to
encourage and harness local Punjabi artists including youth.
SPONSORS and DONORS will be appreciated and appropriately
recognized.
Punjabi Cultural Society of Chicago is a registered non-profit
501 (c) (3)
organization with Internal Revenue Services ID # 37-1321120 and
your
donations made to PCS are tax deductible to the extent permitted
by IRS.
Graduation/Appreciation Night: PCS held the first ever
Punjabi Youth
Graduation Night in Chicagoland on June 8th , 2001 to honor
Punjabi Graduates
for their achievements. Rangla Punjab 2001 Participants were
also honored at
the Graduation Night.
P.C.S. SCHOLARSHIPS: P. C. S. will award $500
scholarships to qualified High
School Seniors & college undergraduate Punjabi Students at
"PCS Youth
Graduation Night". Deadline to apply is Sunday, April 14,
2002. Winners will
be decided by an independent council of judges. Scholarship fund
sponsors

PUNJABI SPORTS FESTIVAL 2002: PCS is planing to
hold Punjabi Sports Festival
at an International level on August 10, 2002. Teams are being
formed now.

P.C.S. NIGHT 2002: is being scheduled to be held in
November 4, 2002. More
details to be posted later. PCS Night 2001 was cancelled in
memory to the
victims of September 11 attacks.
Bhangra Explosion: PCS congratulates Bhangra troupe
"Bhangra X-Plosion
directed by Mr. Dhruba Bhatacharya on winning the International
Bhangra
Competition in Detroit.
ASIAN AMERICAN COALITION OF CHICAGO: annual dinner
banquet was held on
February 2, 2002 at Hyatt Regency O'hare. PCS & SAHO guests
occupied seven
tables. Dr. Birinder S. Marwah was honored with Asian American
Community
service award. 20th Annual Asian American Dinner Banquets is
being hosted by
Indian American community. PCS & SAHO will take the lead
role in organizing

HANS RAJ HANS show: PCS partners with Sargam
Entertainment in organizing
world famous Hans Raj Hans show in Chicago on Saturday, March
16, 2002 at
8:00pm at Holiday Inn, 5440 N. River Rd., Rosemont. For more

PARDESI Group: is scheduled to perform at "Rangeela
Punjab" show in
Indianapolis be held on Saturday, March 23, 2002. For more

PASSPORT TO THE WORLD: will be held at Chicago Children's
Museum at Navy Pier
from April 27 through May 26, 2002. PCS will be organizing Bus
trips from
Palatine Gurdwara Sahib on May 9th leaving Palatine at 12noon
and back by
7:00pm. Advance reservation is requested, a monitory $5.00
donation to cover
the refreshments is encouraged.
