is organizing its seventh annual Punjabi youth scholarship and
graduation night on Sunday, June 10, 2007, starting at 5:00 p.m., at
Vice Roy of India Banquet Hall, 19 W 555 Roosevelt Road, Lombard, IL
60148. The night is to honor the class of 2007, both high school and
college. The celebration will include recognition awards, key note
address, delicious food, DJ music, dancing and networking. Dr. Darsh T. Wasan, Vice
President and Motorola Chair Professor of Chemical Engineering,
Illinois Institute of Technology will be the Key Note speaker. He
will speak on how to achieve excellence in whatever you do. “The last date to register for the scholarships is May 20, 2007,” said Jay Singh the P.C.S. youth affairs director. “All the eligible graduates, Rangla Punjab participants,
and guests must register in advance for a dinner head count by June
3rd, “ said Amarjit Kaur Atwal, vice president of PCS. Three $1000 each DeVry University tuition scholarships will also be given through PCS at this event to qualified students who already have or are planning to apply to DeVry University at Chicago, Addison or Tinley Park campus. The president of DeVry University Chicago campus will be attending. If you have not already applied to DeVry, contact Alice V. Dungey to schedule an admissions interview. 773-697-2242. Punjab 2007" for their hard work, participation, and dedication to
promote Punjabi culture and performing arts, “ said Balwinder Singh,
PCS chairperson. “I think this event is an excellent community service opportunity to promote education among next generation, I urge all the community oriented corporations to support PCS Chicago projects,” said Ronny Kular, the PCS executive secretary. This is also an opportunity for the families to give feed
back and suggest improvements to PCS programs, and participate in
PCS's community building endeavors. The Punjabi Cultural Society of Chicago is a not-for-profit
community organization devoted to promoting Punjabi culture,
language, performing arts, healthy life style and sports, education,
